Let Write Devotionals! A NoNonsense Manual edition by Melanie Stiles Reference eBooks Reviews
One part general writing help, one part devotional-specific advice, one part admonition/inspiration for deepening one's relationship with God, this book by Melanie Stiles is a gift for those interested in writing devotionals for publication. Looking at the structure of devotionals and the process by which one plans for and writes the genre, Stiles, herself a coach and freelance writer with hundreds of bylines to her name, deftly steers readers away from common pitfalls and errors. She also reminds readers to consider their overall purpose and place in the universe before they sit down to write. This book is very useful and encouraging tool, a welcome addition in Stiles's "Let's Write" series.
I was lucky enough to read this book before it was made available on . For Christian writers wanting to remember the greater purpose in their words, this book is a great aid offering well tested advice and gentle counsel on how to move beyond the temptations and barriers to writing. This well-edited, accessible book packs much food for thought into its pages. Avoiding the pitfalls of lecture and of overly persuasive thinking, she makes a solid case for each of her recommendations. I expect this one will remain on my desk as handy reference for times when I get lost along the writer's path.
Great guide to create devotionals or just food for thought.
